Scripture Class: Week 1 : World Behind the Bible

Life in the Scriptures is a four-week course aimed at providing you with effective methods and practical tools for contextual study of the Bible. The class is divided into four modules. Within these sections, we will unearth the three worlds of the Bible. The course will conclude with a succinct history of the Christian Scriptures and why they are recognized by the Church as infallible and divinely inspired.

How were the Scriptures interpreted by their original audience?
This module will unpack history, culture, archaeology, geography, and world/regional events in understanding the Bible.

How do the Scriptures interpret themselves?

This module will address original language, genre, literary construction, cross-referencing, and other textual features in understanding the Bible.

How are the Scriptures to be interpreted today?

This module will cover the guidance/government of the Holy Spirit in all interpretations, relevance, and practical application in understanding the Scriptures.

Where did the Christian Scriptures come from?

This module will address the history of the Hebrew Bible and Christian New Testament while elaborating on the process by which the Biblical writings were made available to us today.
